I will need to get a little technical now, but I’ll keep the legalese to a minimum. This is Shalom Simplified and the website address is: https://shalom.brightbeams.org. From now on, let’s just call it “the Website”. This privacy statement is valid from last update. I may update it at any time without announcement.
Last update: September 22, 2020
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you choose to send feedback with the contact form, a record of your name and email is retained in the database.
If you leave a comment on the Website you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Currently, I only use Jetpack stats for analytics, which does not retain any personally identifiable data from visitors.
Who we share your data with
I share your data with no one. This will only change if I decide to do an email newsletter (and you sign up for it).
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
What rights you have over your data
If you have left comments or sent in feedback via the contact form, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. You can also request that I erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
How I protect your data
I use a secure socket layer (SSL) certificate to protect any and all data you provide to the Website. I also have one of the best available security plugins defending your data from any nefarious individuals who would attempt to steal it.
