I love how the snow sparkles in the moonlight. Simply beautiful!
Amanda, your remark about the moon sparkling on the snow reminds me of a similar experience I had as a child, one that I may have shared with you already, but bears repeating. While visiting my Aunt in Andover, one morning I was up before anyone else and went downstairs to sit in my favourite place in the whole world…the sun porch. They called it the sun porch for a reason as it faced east. When the sun’s rays appeared from behind the hills on the other side of the river, the dew on the grass sparkled like diamonds. Whirlpools of mist rose in circles from the river. As I sat there totally immersed in the beauty and stillness of the scene, I was filled with a sense of God’s nearness. At only eleven years old, I didn’t understand that it was God who was calling me to behold the beauty of His creation, but my heart responded. Like a photograph in my memory, the impression has stayed with me all these years.
