On every hand there is that which would tempt the Christian to forsake the narrow way; but those who would perfect a character fit for eternity must take the will of God as their standard, separating entirely from everything that is displeasing to him.E.G. White, Signs of the Times, 12/17/1896
Entire separation requires us to remove such things from our minds, as well. This is the most challenging thing of all; but I have experienced the power of the mind and can testify to this truth, that your mind cannot tell the difference between reality and imagination. What you see in your mind is as real to you as what you see with your eyes and your body and subconscious will both respond to it as if it is real.
This has been a very interesting week for Ricky and I, to say the least! This testimony will be really two testimonies in one.
Earlier this week, on the New Moon, we were rebaptized. (I won’t go into the reasons here.) We chose to do it at a local lake that we saw from the satellite view on Google Maps had a small beach. On the way, we got to see a rainbow, the sign of God‘s covenant, which we saw as a sign of His approval and blessing. 🙂
There was an issue with the wind, though, so when we first arrived, we explored around to see if there was a better spot. There was! A short distance from the main beach there was another mini beach that was more sheltered from the wind, but still enjoyed some sunshine. It was perfect. It took a while for us to find it, though. In the process of this time, I lost our keys!
Firstly, I want to praise the Most High God for taking such wonderful care of us, always! This past Sabbath, we woke up to a frozen water intake pipe. We were certainly not happy about that, of course! But I crawled under our mobile home with my hair dryer and dealt with it. I went down with much prayer because the last time this happened, it took most of the day to thaw. It still took a while this time, but we serve a prayer-answering God! We are especially thankful that nothing has frozen since then. My husband figured out how to block the gap that was letting too much cold air get at the pipe. Praise God!
